Health Insurance Marketplace
Help is available in-person across the Commonwealth and on the phone. All Virginia-based assisters have completed rigorous training courses and passed certification requirements. You can work with assisters on everything: from learning about your health plan options to how to use your new coverage. Your information always is kept confidential. And -- the assisters do not charge you for their services.
There are two types of assisters who help with Health Insurance Marketplace coverage:
- Navigators are there to help you shop for and enroll in health care coverage. Two groups of navigators serve Virginia; Boat People SOS serves Northern Virginia; and ENROLL Virginia! through the Virginia Poverty Law Center serves the entire state. Call ENROLL Virginia at 1-888-392-5132; and Boat People SOS at 703-538-2190.
- Certified Application Counselors (CACs) are located throughout the state, often in community health centers and other community-based services.
